In a tantalizing collaboration last year, Kellogg’s joined forces with Little Debbie to transform the cherished Oatmeal Creme Pies into a morning delight, giving birth to what we heralded as “the ultimate cereal crossover”. Now, it seems that this title might have a challenger. Building on the popularity of both the Oatmeal Creme Pie cereal and the extraordinarily delicious Cosmic Brownies cereal, Kellogg’s has once more drawn inspiration from the realm of snack food, introducing a new morning or midnight munchies must-have: the cherished Nutty Buddy cookies have now been transformed into a scrumptious cereal.
The blend of chocolate and peanut butter is a time-tested duo that is as enjoyable in a breakfast bowl as it is in a cookie. The new cereal iteration boasts flavors of toasty peanut butter paired with crispy, fudge-smothered pieces that promise to gratify your taste buds from dawn to dusk.
“As soon as we released our inaugural two Little Debbie cereals, enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting to see Kellogg’s morph more Little Debbie treats into cereal,” stated Sadie Garcia, director of brand marketing at Kellogg’s All Family Cereal, in a recent press release.
Jeff Badger, Vice President of Marketing at McKee Foods, added, “Our new cereal perfectly encapsulates the nostalgic interplay of chocolate and peanut butter flavors found in a Nutty Buddy bar, making it a delectable choice for breakfast or as a snack at any time.”
Wondering where to snag a box? Exclusively at Walmart, the Kellogg’s Little Debbie Nutty Buddy Cereal will be hitting the shelves in October, with plans to expand to other retailers across the country in December.
As Foodie Mike, I was able to get my hands on an early sample. After one bite, I was instantly transported back to childhood memories of enjoying Nutty Buddy bars. The same perfect balance of chocolate and peanut butter translated wonderfully to cereal form. The textures were spot on, with the cereal staying crunchy in milk, and the flavors were bold without being overly sweet. It’s a must-try for any Little Debbie or Kellogg’s fan out there.
