  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • Hog casings, cleaned

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and milk. Mix well.
  • Stuff the mixture into the hog casings.
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can make your own sausage casings by mixing together equal parts ground pork and beef.
  • If you don’t have a sausage stuffer, you can use a zip-top bag to stuff the banger mixture into the casing.
  • To cook bangers in a pan, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bangers and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
  • To cook bangers in the oven, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place the bangers on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • British bangers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
